Tuesdays Artful Journal- A Birthday

Today, a journal entry about a hike to the river.  One on one time with the children really strengthens the connection and relationship.  It allows new things to arise between us as new possible topics of conversation, questions, observation, nature discoveries and experiences.  I treasure these moments.

Tuesdays Artful Journal- The Selfie

Brene Brown has an ecourse entitled, Gifts of Imprefection.  One of the first lessons is on compassions, courage and connection.  

A second lesson encourages the student to take a selfie, have some fun by writing "Im imperfect and I'm enough on their hand, and paste it in their journal.  Over the past year, in my beginning art classes I have been practicing the self portrait.  Believe me, a selfie would have been a lot easier, but this process REALLY allowed me to be ok with imperfection!
